how to help yourself by helping others
If you grew up in a Mexican family like I did, chances are you heard "andale cabrona, por pendeja" a few times. For those of you who weren't as lucky, our abuelitas believe fiercely in karma. Most of the time, when you hear the word karma, you might think back to a few people on your Facebook feed who constantly rant about how karma will annihalate their ex for being an estupido. BUT it could be good too! I know, I know, I remember 2016 also, but bare with me. I used to think the world was out to get me, like I used to eat total sh*t at least twice a week. One day I read this random retweet about paying kindness forward and I was digging it. I decided I was going to make sure I went out of my way once a week to perform a random act of kindness, and I am forever thankful. You see, the moment you look into the eyes of the kid you just bought an ice cream for, your stone cold Steve Austin heart does this funny thing where it makes you HAPPY. Even though you weren't the one receiving anything, you feel as if you were. I've been doing this for years now, and even though I still end up falling over my own self all of the time, I feel blessed and happy constantly, and that is something that we can all use more of.
